Category Archives: London life The lovely Londonist website flagged a weekend of weaving celebrations in Spitalfields last weekend, which I just HAD to go and see. Where else could you see Morris dancing, weaving and sheep in the same city block? The celebrations were to mark the contribution of the Huguenots – French Protestant refugees who fled Catholic France….  Holly Becker, on her decor8 blog, challenged bloggers to high five blogs which they love and find inspirational. Out of all the blogs I read – and on a quick Google reader check, that’s more than 75 – the one that makes me take the most action is Londonist. It makes sense to read a blog…  After spending an afternoon photographing a Swedish family Christmas with 10 people including four children, I finally feel Christmassy. In Sweden, December 24 is when everyone opens their presents, starting with the youngest first. There was Michael Buble playing and a gazillion presents under the tree. Walking to the family’s home, there were Christmas wreaths…  I visited Bust magazine’s Craftacular in Bethnal Green’s York Hall yesterday on behalf of Folksy and its online magazine Frankly. It was a brilliant afternoon with more than 70 exhibitors including artist Rob Ryan in a ‘grotto’ on the stage. A number of DJs kept the afternoon buzzing with songs I haven’t heard for years…
